Walk through a Boudoir Photoshoot with me, a Boudoir Photographer based in South Wales!

Firstly, welcome!! Welcome to my website, welcome to my blog, and more importantly, welcome to yourself. You’re clearly here for a reason, nobody accidentally stumbles upon this kind of thing. Or at least, I hope they don’t… (what on earth are they searching?!).

But seriously, I’m so happy that you’re here!

Whether you’re right at the beginning of thinking about having a boudoir photoshoot in the future, or you’re at the last stages of your planning, and you’re ready to get it booked in, I hope you’ll find something useful from this blog post!

I don’t know about you, but i’m an extremely anxious person when it comes to my personal life. If I have a new appointment booked with somebody i’ve never met before, or i’ve started something new and i’m going somewhere for the very first time, I get insanely panicked! I’d love it if I could have a write up of exactly what to expect when doing whatever it was.

This blog post is really going to walk you through exactly what to expect when booking a boudoir photoshoot with me, the entire booking process of this, and then we’ll move onto talking about when you get to me, and what exactly happens throughout the entire photoshoot!

The booking process

So! You’ve gone through the few months of thinking about having a boudoir photoshoot, and putting it off, and you’re finally ready to look for a boudoir photographer. You want somebody you trust, somebody who you feel you can have fun with during your session, and someone who will make all of the anxieties and nervousness fade away as soon as you arrive. You’ve posted on Facebook looking for recommendations, scrolled instagram and TikTok, and you’ve had a few calls/email conversations with your top few choices. Now, you’ve picked me (for the sake of this blog post, let’s allow it).

You’ve decided that I am the best photographer for your boudoir photoshoot. Yay!

By this point, we will have already chatted a bit over messages/email/phonecall, i’ll have already explained the booking process to you, but I’ll do it again here.

Firstly, we’ll discuss dates. Time of year that you’d like to have your photoshoot is key for me to send over my availability. Being primarily a wedding photographer, my summer availability is very limited, so it’s important to get a date booked in with me ASAP. Essentially what i’ll ask you to do is send over a broad time period of when you’d like the session, for instance, if you’re planning to have the photos back for something specific like a wedding day, or a birthday, then you’ll give me that date, and i’ll go ahead and suggest two months before that! Two months seems like an awful lot, and really, it kind of is. However, by the time we’ve had our session, then you’ve gone through and selected your favourite images, then I edit…then you select which images you’d like to print or put in an album…then I make the album…then I order the album… it goes quite quickly!!!

We’ve discussed a date, next, we’ll talk about where to have the session. I offer boudoir photoshoots all over the UK, however, the main locations I host these photoshoots are: Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Abergavenny, & Bristol.

You’ll have gathered by now that I don’t have a studio location. Correct! I utilise airbnb’s, studios, and hotel rooms in all of these locations. This allows us to have a really unique experience in a place that will be completely private and have all of the amenities that we’ll require during the photoshoot.

We’ve discussed date & location. What’s next?

The sad part, paying. Here, you’ll pay your deposit! & we’ll chat about you paying in instalments, or discuss the due date of your final payment.

I’ll also be sending over a questionnaire for you to fill in for me. I’m not going to attach this here, but it’s essentially just a bunch of questions to get to know you a little more. This will basically help me tailor the vibe of the photoshoot to your style & likes. For instance, the music when you enter, will be exactly what you love, to get you feeling really comfortable & obviously for us to have a boogie together.

And that’s it! You’re officially booked in & we can start chatting all things lingerie and fun props!!!!<3

When you arrive for your boudoir photoshoot

Upon arriving to our agreed location, I’ll be ready to meet you with a smile & a mocktail/cocktail! I’ll also have a little prezzie for you to snack on, during our shoot, or you can take it away with you.

There will be music on for your arrival, and we’ll immediately just have a chat with each other, kind of about your expectations and how you’ve been feeling leading up to the photoshoot. We’ll have a look through my client closet together, and we’ll also go through any lingerie pieces you’ve brought yourself. We’ll discuss how you feel in each of the pieces, any areas of concern, and also just any insecurities you have about yourself/your body.

After a few moments of this, i’ll direct you to the bathroom, where you can leave your things, change comfortably by yourself, and do any touch-up’s that you need to do!

Then we start shooting!

I’m not going to go through every single pose that we’ll be working in, but essentially, I run through a specific workflow:

  • 5-10 mins of Very Simple Posing

  • 5-10 mins of Posing around the location. For instance, moving you onto a sofa/chair, or over to a window etc. This can be very dependent on the location.

  • 10-15 mins of close-up’s, more difficult poses & prop use

Then, we’ll repeat this again after changing into a new outfit/lingerie piece!

Before you even try any poses yourself, you’ll see me doing them (I apologise in advance LOL). When it’s your turn, don’t worry about forgetting anything! I will talk you through everything, and (after getting your permission, always) I will help adjust/move you into place.

After your Boudoir Photoshoot

After your boudoir session with me, you’ll go get dressed, pack your things away, and we’ll chat about how everything went. You can take your time, finish your drink, and snacks, while I go through the images we took.

We’ll have a bit of a chill, and then we’ll go through your images together! We can have a first draft of the ones you like, and hopefully get you insanely excited!!

Then!

You’ll go home, with 1-2 preview images already in your email, feeling absolutely amazing.

You’ll wait a few more days, and I’ll send over your fully edited images that you selected, and i’ll also be able to send over other images (not fully edited), that you can decide whether you’d like to purchase! There’s zero pressure for you to do this, it’s only if you want to.

If your package includes an album, or any of the other extras I offer, then I will get to work on creating those for you. And then get them sent over!

At this point, after you’ve received everything from me, you’re welcome to leave me a review & recommend me to your friends! This helps me so much in reaching other amazing women, and allowing me to work with them <3

On that note, i’ll finish here! Thank you so much for reading, if you got this far!

If you’re looking to book in with me, you can do so here!
