Cardiff Boudoir Photographer- Boho meets Bondage?

Just last week, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Shelley. She had come to me a few months back really wanting a session, and we immediately got it booked in for her. Like most of the women who have had boudoir sessions with me, she’d been wanting to do a session for a really long time, and had just never been able to bring herself to do it. I can honestly say that the most intense part of having a boudoir session is the actual booking process, and maybe the drive as well… Your nerves are everywhere, and you’re not sure it’s something you should really be doing. ‘What will they think’ and ‘maybe I should wait until i’m in a better shape’ are often the thoughts that come into our heads. But why not love our bodies as they are right now?

Not only was the session for her own confidence though, Shelley will actually be gifting a gorgeous boudoir album to her future husband on his birthday- which is just such a great idea! He’s literally going to adore it.

We shot the session in a beautiful airbnb in Cardiff Bay. It was the most perfect location for the photoshoot. We really wanted a modern vibe, with a boho feel to it- to contradict the lingerie that Shelley brought along with her. And.. wow. We really made magic with this place.

This boudoir session really marked a change in the way I run my business. I really wanted to push myself to create more than a photoshoot for my client- I wanted her to have a truly incredible experience. Upon arrival, Shelley was definitely a little nervous, which is totally normal for all of my clients, because usually they’ve never done this before- and it’s bloody scary going to a random place to get your kit off for someone with a camera!

I was my normal bubbly self though, and Shelley soon relaxed around me. I gave her a little cocktail and then we sat and chatted about what lingerie she’d brought along, and we went through my own little client closet to see if there were any pieces or props she’d like to use. She fancied the cuffs, and the honey- but they’re a little too raunchy for my website…

During our little chat right at the start of the session, Shelley expressed to me some concern about a ‘problem area’ of her body. This was super helpful for me to know right at the beginning, so I was able to really get her into positions that not only flatter her body, but hide that little imperfection for her. She looked absolutely stunning in every photo, she absolutely rocked the poses, gave everything a go, and we just had an absolute blast together.

Throughout the entire session, we just couldn’t stop chatting. I truly feel like i’ve gained a new friend. We were able to shake down Shelley’s nerves in just a few minutes, and pretty soon she felt like a supermodel (and looked like one!).

Right at the end of the session, whilst she was getting dressed and packing away her things, I quickly hopped onto my laptop to have a quick little look at some of the photos we took. I managed to give her a little sneak peak- and she literally cried real tears! I could tell that instantly Shelley was overwhelmed with the photos we got, and was almost unable to recognise herself. As you can see- she looked bloody fantastic. The photos are insane, and I’m so excited to create her boudoir album ready for her fiancé’s birthday!

Shelley, you were absolutely amazing- and I hope I get to work with you again!<3
